A peninsula located between Rhuys and the Vilaine estuary, Damgan<\/strong> covers 10.16 km\u00b2. The city. Ambon : History and Generalities <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The name Ambon comes from the Celtic Ambon and would have the meaning “ford”. Located in the north west of France, Ambon was a very large parish. It was especially known for its port which was considered the fourth largest in Brittany in the 16th century. The administrative redrawing of Ambon took place after the revolution. This redrawing resulted in the reduction of the territory of Ambon with the loss of its port of P\u00e9nerf and the territory of Damgan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Ambon is part of the Arc Sud Bretagne (community of communes) and has between 1,700 and 2,000 inhabitants. The latter are called “ambonnais” and “ambonnaises”.
